Suatu rangkaian R-L seri dihubungkan dengan sumber tegangan bolak-balik V = 100 sin200t dengan V dalam volt dan t dalam detik. Jika besar induktor L = 300 mH dan arus maksimum yang mengalir 1A, hitunglah tegangan antara ujung-ujung R !

Dari tegangan V = 100 sin 200t dapat diketahui bahwa
Vm = 100 volt dan w = 200 rad/det
XL = w L = 200 x 300.10E-3 = 60 W
Z = Vm/Im = 100/1 = 100 W
Z² = R² + XL² Þ 100² = R² + 60² Þ R = 80 W
Jadi tegangan pada ujung-ujung R adalah
VR = Im R = 80.1 = 80 volt
Contoh 2 :
Suatu rangkaian seri R-C mempunyai arus 2A. Jika R = 100 W dan
C = 10E-3/24p F, serta rangkaian berosilasi dengan frekuensi 50 Hz. Hitunglah : VR, VC, V, dan z !

VR = I . R = 2 x 100 = 200 volt
XC = 1 = 1 . 24p

Vc = I. Xc = 2 x 240 = 480 volt
V = Ö(VR² + VC²) = Ö(200² + 480²) = 520 volt
