Gaya Gesek - Definisi, rumus dan Pembahasan Gaya Gesek

Gaya gesek adalah gaya yang bekerja pada benda dan arahnya selalu melawan arah gerak benda. Gaya gesek hanya akan bekerja pada benda jika ada gaya luar yang bekerja pada benda tersebut.

Rumus:

f_s = gaya gesek statis
m_s = koefisien gesek statis

f_k = gaya gesek kinetis
m_k = koefisien gesek kinetis
P = Resultan gaya reaksi yang mengimbangi gaya aksi F dan W
Nilai f_s antara nol sampai maksimum (nilai f_s = 0 jika tidak ada gaya luar F yang bekerja pada benda, dan nilai f_s mencapai maksimum pada saat benda akan bergerak). f_s maksimum ini tergantung pada sifat permukaan benda dan lantai yang bersinggungan serta tergantung pada gaya normal.
